Using Price At Pump

Price At Pump is a free tool that lets you compare fuel prices across the United Kingdom. By using this website you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

You may use Price At Pump for personal, non-commercial purposes. You must not scrape, republish, or redistribute our data without written permission.

Accuracy of data

All fuel prices shown on Price At Pump are sourced from the GOV.UK Fuel Finder API. Under UK regulations, fuel retailers must report price changes within 30 minutes — but we cannot guarantee that every price is perfectly up to date at the moment you view it.

Price At Pump is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep things accurate, but we are not liable for any losses arising from reliance on the information displayed.

Intellectual property

The Price At Pump name, logo, design, and original content are owned by us. Fuel price data is published by the UK government under open data terms.

Third-party services

We use third-party services to operate this website, including Google Analytics for understanding how people use the site, and Google AdSense for displaying advertisements. These services have their own terms and privacy policies.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Price At Pump after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We'll update the "last updated" date at the top of this page when we make changes.

The short version

We don't track your location, we don't require an account, and we don't sell your data. We only collect data you explicitly give us, and only when you opt in to a specific feature.

What we collect

Price At Pump collects personal information in only one scenario: price alerts. If you choose to sign up for fuel price alerts, we collect the following information that you explicitly submit to us:

• Email address — to send you price alert notifications
• Postcode — to identify which fuel stations are near you
• Area — to associate your alerts with the correct region

Price alerts are entirely opt-in. If you don't sign up, we collect nothing. If you do sign up, we only use the data you provide for the purpose of sending you the alerts you requested.

What we don't collect

When you search for fuel prices, your postcode is used to calculate distances and find nearby stations — but we don't store your searches. We don't track your GPS location. We don't build profiles on you. We don't require you to create an account to use the site.

Analytics & advertising

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use Price At Pump — for example, which pages are most popular and how people find the site. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data. It does not identify you personally.

We also use Google AdSense to display advertisements on the site. AdSense may use cookies to serve ads based on your browsing activity. You can manage your ad preferences or opt out of personalised advertising through Google's Ad Settings.

Cookies

Price At Pump itself does not set cookies beyond what is required by Google Analytics and Google AdSense. We do not use cookies for tracking, authentication, or personalisation beyond these third-party services.

Data retention & deletion

If you sign up for price alerts and later want to unsubscribe, you can do so at any time via the unsubscribe link in any alert email. Upon unsubscribing, we will delete your email address, postcode, and area data.

If you want your data deleted immediately, contact us and we'll remove it promptly.

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you. You also have the right to object to processing or request data portability. To exercise any of these rights, get in touch with us.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page. We'll never start collecting more data without telling you first.
